TWO BUT NOT TWO
Aperture and meetings in 'art the early post-Basaglia
By Gustavo Giacosa

With the entry into force of Law 180, there has been a transformation of the old mental health facilities in a regime that promoted open to their inner development of creative activities such as atelier d'arts, theater, music therapy. Among these laboratories, different from each other in the intentions and motivations, some of them emerge
characterized by conducting a particular search.

that sprang up around the individual initiative of a doctor, a lover of art or a visual artist, share the main goal of encouraging free expression of the patients, providing them an appropriate place, technical and conceptual responsive and professional support in general to accompany them in an authentic artistic career. Within these laboratories, among the numerous authors who have been trained, many have found a welcome in the vast and diverse world of "art brut / outsider art" in Italy and abroad.

Exploring the relationship between art and madness after the implementation of Law 180, urges us to seek those creators and the creative relationships that define the current demarche of the so-called "outsider art" Italian.

Two but not two: the deep bond between artist and outsider artist maieuta, their creative communion, their specific individuality ... As stated Franco Basaglia:

'It is true that no one can change another. But it is more so true that no one can change without the other. Change is to participate. " Will present the works of: Roger and Michele Munno Cazzanello Atelier Adriano-Michele and St. Columban al Lambro (MI), Franco and Richard Bellucci Bargellini Atelier Blue Camel-Livorno, Antonio and Paola Dalla Valle Pontiggia of 'Atelier sigh- Cremona, and Guido and Massimo Boni Mensi the Centre for expressive activities "The wine vault", Florence.
